The Spotify canvas for their track "Cue: State of Mind" aims to enhance the auditory experience- with visual elements mindfully chosen to complement their established language and brand.
Visual References
The motion and subject of the animation are inspired by the visual identity of the band. Slowly Rolling Camera’s visuals capture a dark, cinematic atmosphere, with nature as a core theme.
Their social media features moody landscapes—misty forests, stormy skies—that reflect their music’s introspective tone.
Concert visuals use natural elements like rippling water and tree shadows to create immersive spaces, blending sound with the environment. Album covers similarly feature organic textures and abstract landscapes, evoking a timeless, tranquil feel that complements their soulful, orchestral style.
Experiments
To capture the essence of Slowly Rolling Camera, I experimented with different animations including simulations, audio reactive keyframes, and different forms of animated curves/paths. Additionally, I experimented with emphasis on atmospheric materials, organic subjects, natural motion, and different setup of dracinematic light.
